Marinated Hanger Steak

Hanger steak marinated overnight in red wine and Dijon, then seared on a hot griddle or grill. Cut the steak along its fatty ribbon before marinating, and slice against the grain to serve.
Ingredients

- 1 hanger steak
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

- Hanger steak has a ribbon of fat running lengthwise through it. Cut the steak into two pieces lengthwise along the fatty ribbon before marinating.
- Mix the red wine, olive oil, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and Dijon and pour over the steaks.
- Let marinate overnight, turning once or twice.
- Take out of the marinade and pat the steaks dry.
- Heat the griddle (a Blackstone in our case) or grill to 450°F.
- Cook 10 minutes per side, then let rest for medium-rare. Slice against the grain and enjoy with your favorite sides.
