Beef Nachos

Loaded, cheesy, and built for sharing

Good nachos start with good beef. Seasoned Whitt's Place ground beef piled over crisp tortilla chips and plenty of melty cheese makes a platter that disappears fast on game day.

Build them in layers so every chip gets its fair share of beef and cheese — no sad, bare chips at the bottom.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Whitt's Place ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 large bag tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack
  • 1 can black beans, drained
  • 1/2 cup pickled jalapeños
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • Sour cream, salsa, and guacamole, to serve

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in the taco seasoning and water, and simmer until thickened, about 3 minutes.
  3. Spread half the chips on a sheet pan. Top with half the beef, beans, and cheese. Repeat with a second layer.
  4. Bake at 400°F for 8–10 minutes, until the cheese is fully melted and bubbling.
  5. Scatter with jalapeños, tomatoes, and green onions. Serve right away with sour cream, salsa, and guacamole.

Whitt's Tip

Shred your own cheese — pre-shredded is coated to prevent caking and never melts as smoothly.
